A little bit about us
The team at Smiddy Stegman is committed to providing the best service for our clients. Through our collective experiences, we have tailored our processes to make the design experience easy and exciting for everyone involved. We work to build meaningful relationships to execute unique custom homes. Residential interiors are a personal reflection of an individual’s personality and habitual tendencies. We believe everyone inhabits and navigates the built environment in their own way. We all have our little quirks, and we enjoy tapping into that to tailor a home for its specific residents. We get to know you on a very personal level throughout your project, so let us introduce ourselves to you!
LISA STEGMAN
PRINCIPAL INTERIOR DESIGNER, BAID, NCIDQ
Lisa’s most valuable quality, as an interior designer, is her ability to think creatively while working to develop technical solutions. She creates a balance between art and construction; form and function; and budget and quality, in every project. Lisa’s knowledge of art and custom furniture allows her to curate refined interiors.
Lisa completed her Bachelor of Applied Interior Design at Mount Royal University and her NCIDQ designation shortly after. She started her career under the iconic Douglas Cridland, prior to founding Smiddy Stegman with Sam.
SAMANTHA SMIDDY
PRINCIPAL INTERIOR DESIGNER, BAID, NCIDQ
Sam’s strength is her ability to connect and form trusting relationships with clients. As a result, these connections are used to develop the vision and aesthetic to create a cohesive project concept. Her spatial awareness and ability to think volumetrically allows her to design complex interior details. She combines and layers different design elements in such a way that they can successfully coexist, without causing tension, resulting in a timeless interior.
After receiving her Bachelor of Applied Interior Design at Mount Royal University, Sam gained experience in high-end residential at Cridland Associates and completed her NCIDQ before starting Smiddy Stegman in 2018.
LIEVE COCQUYT
OFFICE MANAGER
Lieve has 17 years experience in the Calgary design industry. She uses her exceptional administrative skills and project management abilities to keep Smiddy Stegman projects organized and on track. Lieve is an integral part of both our client care and studio management.
