Heritage Homestead
The Heritage Homestead project centres around a young couple preparing for family life, expecting their first child, and looking to transform their newly purchased house into a long-term home. Originally, the main floor featured a dated design with two separate living room areas, each with a fireplace, and a small, closed-off kitchen.
In reimagining this space, a key design decision was to embrace the house's original architecture, particularly the multiple arched windows. This approach allowed for modern updates while retaining the home's inherent character. The redesign leans into these arches, creating a seamless blend of the old and the new.
A standout feature is the kitchen island, conceived from the clients' desire for a large, seamless stone surface. An exceptionally sized 149” x 47” slab of Cambrian black leathered stone was sourced, allowing for the creation of a magnificent, uninterrupted island centrepiece.
The design also features a thoughtful mix of metal finishes, including two-tone handles, to create a cohesive look throughout the space. Custom reeded doors add a unique and refined touch, further enhancing the home's bespoke feel. This renovation balances the charm of the house's original details with modern functionality, making it an ideal setting for the couple's growing family.
